Telus Convention Centre

Heightened Senses at Every Turn

Located in the heart of Calgary, the TELUS Convention Centre hosts hundreds of events every year. With a rich history dating back to 1974, the convention centre has been expanded and updated to provide 122,000 square feet of convention space, over 47,000 square feet of exhibit space, and 36 meeting rooms, making it the perfect venue for a wide range of events.

Our team worked closely with Richard MacDonald & Associates to design and install a powerful ETC Dimming and control solution for the newly expanded facility in 2000. The main level of the North Building boasts nine meeting rooms and two semi-private meeting rooms, while the upper level is a spacious exhibit hall. The ETC Unison lighting controls and 277VAC Dimming solution were specifically designed to accommodate the building's power requirements and ensure a seamless event experience for all attendees.

The TELUS Convention Centre is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including 277 Volt Dimming Racks and DALI controls. The building's lighting controls are scalable, allowing for easy expansion and customization as new spaces are added and renovated. With local button stations and LCD touchscreens throughout the facility, event organizers and attendees will enjoy a highly user-friendly and intuitive experience.

Banff National Park

Heightened Senses at Every Turn

In the heart of Mother Nature, lies The Banff Gondola on Sulphur Mountain, one of the most dynamic, and most visited destinations in Canada.

In 2016, the Banff Gondola Upper Terminal underwent significant renovation, transforming the building’s 1970’s design into a modern world class tourist’s dream featuring a variety of restaurants, exhibits, theatre and observation deck.

During this renovation, our team commissioned a significant ETC Lighting System, and has since been entrusted to maintain the installed lighting, audio, and projection systems.

Challenges with this project included the extreme winter weather conditions native to the mountain peak, as well as limited power supply at the venue’s remote, 2450m elevation. All of the equipment that we chose needed to meet very specific criteria. Outdoor equipment needed to withstand up to -45ºC temperatures, while lighting needed to be LED to require minimal power. Finally, all chosen equipment needed to be transportable via the Banff Gondola.

In 2021, FSC designed and installed upgraded Audio Infrastructure, adding and expanding the audio system to the upper decks and boardwalk. Yamaha speakers were chosen to endure the harsh temperature changes, which can range from -45ºC in the winter to +35ºC in the summer. In 2022, we upgraded the presentation theatre with a new Christie Digital 4K Laser Projector.

Our team also provided installation labour for a fully immersive experience, designed by the renowned firm Moment Factory. Field Service technicians installed lighting fixtures, drapery tracks, projectors, equipment racks and significant scenic elements. Our field engineers assisted the client technicians with integrating the experience control system with the building’s existing lighting and audio systems.

Our ever-evolving integrated technology creates a memorable atmosphere, and will compliment the Banff visitor experience for years to come.

Calgary Exhibition and Stampede

At 285,000 square feet, the BMO Centre (formerly The Roundup Centre) is the largest, premier exhibition and event space in Calgary. The sprawling venue was designed to accommodate a wide range of events and activities — from conventions and trade shows, to special events and meetings.

Our experienced team has been providing support to the BMO Centre for over two decades, ensuring that the dimming and control system continually runs smoothly. With remote support, programming assistance, and preventative maintenance, we have been dedicated to keeping the facility in top condition and ensuring a seamless experience for all event organizers and attendees.

The BMO Centre boasts five exhibition halls, a 12,000 sq ft. ballroom, and several meeting rooms, each with its own unique features and capabilities. From the Palomino Room to Halls B-F, each space is equipped with the latest in dimming and control technology, including 120V & 277V Dimming Racks, GE Relay Panels, DMX, and 0-10V lighting controls, ensuring that their event space is fully customizable and, most importantly, scalable.

In addition to versatile technology, each hall has its own show office, the ability to accommodate food and beverage sales, and dedicated drive-through bay doors for easy show move-in and move-out.
